PDO Thread Lifts

The thread lift is a nonsurgical in-office face lift done with local anesthesia by inserting PDO
(polydioxanone) sutures into the skin, providing a lifting and smoothing effect. The threads dissolve
over the course of months and new collagen is produced in the treated area. The various thread
lengths give a wide range of treatment options including brow lifts, jaw lifts, cheek lifts, eye lifts, neck
lifts, abdomen lifts, breast lifts, butt lifts, lip enhancement and crow's feet.  Acne scarring can also be
treated.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the procedure take?
Typically a full-face PDO Thread Lift procedure takes just under one hour.  This procedure is
commonly referred to as the, "lunch hour face lift," because patients can have it performed in the
comfort of the doctor's office on their lunch hour and then simply return to work!  A PDO Lip
Enhancement procedure on both upper and lower lip only takes about 15 minutes.  Other areas of the
body may require more or less time, and will be discussed at your free initial consultation.

Does a PDO Thread Lift Hurt?
A topical anesthetic is applied to the treated areas and most patients report only a mild discomfort
when the threads are being placed.  Any residual pain after the procedure typically only requires
over-the-counter pain relief medications and is usually very short in duration.  Patients may choose to
have a local anesthetic injected into the treatment areas prior to the procedure, but most patients who
select that option report  pain from the anesthetic injection to be greater than that of the procedure
itself.

Is there downtime with a PDO Thread Lift Procedure?
Unlike surgical face lifts, which require invasive surgery, cutting, and suturing, the downtime and
recovery from a PDO Lift is minimal but can vary depending on the lifted location(s).  A full-face PDO
lift typically requires around 3-4 weeks to fully recover, vs. 3-4 months for a surgical lift.  Patients may
find some minimal bruising around the injection sites for a few days after the procedure but this can
usually be effectively covered with makeup.  If they choose, patients can immediately resume their
normal activities following their procedure.  Dr. Beatty will discuss all treatment and recovery
information with you at your free, initial, consultation.

What is the cost?
Different treatment areas have different costs. A full-face PDO lift will cost more than a simple lip
enhancement procedure, for example.  All charges will be discussed at your consultation appointment,
however, you can be sure, this procedure is very effective and affordable for almost any budget!
